Cooling System

Coolant Flush and Fill Service

The coolant system is an extremely important part of a long engine life. The antifreeze circulates, bringing the cooler water from the radiator throughout the hot motor, thus cooling it down. Old antifreeze causes the system to work less efficiently, creating high temperatures within your engine.

Thermostat Replacement

The thermostat is the temperature regulator for your engine. Activated by heat, once it reaches the operating temperature, the thermostat opens and allows the cooler water to circulate, therefore maintaining the proper temperature. Over time, these can fail by being stuck open, not allowing your engine to reach the correct temperature, or stuck close, which causes the engine to overheat. If you do a "flush and fill" on your vehicle, be sure to always replace the thermostat.

Radiator Replacement

Due to frequent temperature changes, radiators can become brittle and may even crack. This cracking will lead to a leak in your coolant system and ultimately cause the engine to overheat. Leaks from a radiator will be seen on the ground, near the front of the vehicle.

Hoses Check and Replacement

Just like the radiator, coolant hoses can become brittle and develop leaks. There can be several of these coolant line routed around your motor, so it is important to check your vehicle often for any leaks. Generally, leaks from hoses will be seen as puddles under the area of the motor, and not at the very front of the vehicle.
